It's been a year since you passed away

One year has passed since you have rested in peace.I give you credit for putting my first step towards Sufism as you were the first Sufi master I met. Though I haven’t continued in that path as I wasn’t ready for all of self-denial practice, I still remember every word I heard from you. Even the comments that I didn't understand as a 14-year-old when you complained about the political Islamic movements that were “recruiting” kids to protest in the name of defending Al-Aqsa and actually ruining the youth and the whole generation. Now your point becomes clear to me, especially in Syria's crisis, as the teachings of those movements, that promote a wrong perception of God to their followers, actually make them commit violence in the name of the all-merciful, spreading hate in the name of the one who created everything beautiful and in love.

Great differences exist between those who distort the teachings of an Abrahamic religion and those who teach their followers to hate. And you who teach us that hate, even if it is for an enemy, makes a veil in our heart that prevents us from experiencing God's love, that in order to experience God's closeness, we have to grow our morality, to always repel the evil with good to the extent that we treat our enemies as if they are our intimate friends. To give others priority over us and give them anything even if we are in need, and to treat everything in this world in love even if it is an ant on the street.

Great differences exist between those who practice an Abrahamic faith and consider stepping over an ant a big sin, and those who only claim to be Abrahamic and yet consider stepping over bodies an acceptable act to gain more political power.

Great differences exist between those who label themselves according to Nation, Race, Color, Gender or Faith and consider these labels as a source of supremacy, and those who consider these labels as a motivation to cooperate and know each other.
